Happy Birthday!  Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire’s Digital Hub is 1 year old. First opened in April 2018 to increase the number of telephone calls and web chats we can answer, it has proved a huge success. In 2017-18 we handled 855 calls through the Adviceline number. Since opening the Hub, we have more than doubled our capacity to respond to hundreds more calls during the year, with the total number handled for 2018/19 reaching 2038 calls.

“Previously, I worked on Adviceline in Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire main office before moving to the new Digital Hub a year ago, assisting with the huge increase of telephone calls received. The opening of the new Digital Hub has been a giant leap forward for Citizens Advice West Oxfordshire. The thoughtfully placed work stations provide a spacious environment for the adviser to work in, while it is possible to communicate, share and learn with other operatives. The Hub has enabled us to take many more calls and provide a greatly improved telephone service of the highest quality to the people of West Oxfordshire.”
Mike Claridge, The Digital Hub volunteer

“I have worked at the Digital Hub since July. It is a great place to work. Lots of room and an airy space. The desks are arranged so you have your own space but close enough to be able to talk to colleagues when time allows! The facilities and equipment are good. All in all a great working environment.” Gill Armstrong, The Digital Hub volunteer

Much of this achievement is thanks to our wonderful volunteers who manage the calls, the expert guidance from our Advice Session Coordinators and office space provided by Cottsway Housing and Travis Perkins.

Massive thank you also to the Friends of West Oxfordshire Citizens Advice for funding the new venture.
