Universal Credit – Help to Claim

Citizens Advice offers confidential advice online, over the phone, and in person, for free. We give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward – whoever they are, and whatever their problem. We help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights.
The Help to Claim service is a high profile, national, DWP funded service delivering high quality advice and support to clients to make a new claim for Universal Credit over the phone or via webchat. You can discover more about the service on this medium post.
We are looking for an adviser with good communication and IT skills to support clients to make and complete their new Universal Credit claim, as well as a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the benefits system including Universal Credit, but otherwise training will be provided.
You will have the ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of issues and empower clients. You’ll be confident in maintaining structure and control of meetings and delivering a high quality service.
- Up to 37 hours available
- Salary from £24,000 – £25,000 pro rata dependant on experience, trainee position available for the right candidate.
- 4.6 weeks annual leave pro rata plus Bank Holidays pro rata
